# AI agents that answer your calls, your texts and your website chat.

**Blue Crane Works, in Hamilton, Ontario, sets up three AI agents: a voice agent for the phone, a text agent for texts and a chat agent for the website.** Each says it is an AI, answers only from facts the owner approves, and sends the owner the customer's name, contact and need, with a good time to call back if they give one. The chat agent runs on a client's website today, the voice agent on our own line, and the text agent is built to order.

## What do the three agents say to a customer?

Each one greets the customer as your business's assistant, answers from your facts,
asks one thing at a time, and gets a name, a way to reach them and the job. These are examples from a
made-up plumber, written the way each agent talks. Press play to hear the greeting in Harper's voice,
the one on our own line.

### Voice agent

Live on our own line

Answers your phone in a natural voice when you cannot, on your own number or a new local one of its own.

**Voice agent** Thanks for calling Mason Plumbing. This is Harper, the virtual assistant. How can I help?

**Caller** There's water coming through my kitchen ceiling.

**Voice agent** I'm sorry, that sounds stressful. Can I get your name and the best number to reach you?

**Price** Quoted in writing

### Text agent

We build it

Answers texts to your business number, day or night, in short replies, one question at a time.

**Customer** Hi, do you clear drains in Ancaster?

**Text agent** We do. This is the Mason Plumbing assistant. Which drain is it?

**Customer** Kitchen sink, it's backing up.

**Price** Quoted in writing

### Chat agent

Running on a client site

A chat box on your website that answers visitors from facts you approve and takes their details for you.

Mason Plumbing Chat

**Visitor** Do you install tankless water heaters?

**Chat agent** Yes, supply and install. I can have the plumber call you with a price. What's your name?

**Price** $50 a month on a managed website

## The grind

- Calls that ring out while you are on a roof, under a sink or driving

- Texts from customers that sit unanswered until the evening

- Website visitors who leave because nobody answered their question

- Contact forms with half a number and no name

- Evening and weekend enquiries going to whoever answers first

## What does each agent do?

**The voice agent answers your phone, the text agent answers texts to your
business number, and the chat agent answers in a chat box on your website.** All three work the
same way underneath: a written brief you approve, a short conversation, and a message to you with the
customer's details. Where they differ is where the customer reaches them, and how far along each one is.

| | Voice agent | Text agent | Chat agent |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Where it answers | Your business number, or a new local number of its own | Texts to your business number | A chat box on every page of your website |
| What the customer gets | A natural voice, about two seconds to each reply, and a thank-you text | Short text replies, one question at a time | Answers on the page, from facts you approve |
| What you get | A text with the name, the number read back, the need, how urgent and where, plus the transcript | A text with the customer's details and what they need | An email with the name, a way to reach them and what they need, and a record in your office app if you have one |
| Running today | On Blue Crane's own line, 289-769-9808; not yet for a client | Not yet. We build it for your number when you order it | On a client's website, sending real enquiries to the owner |
| Price | Quoted in writing | Quoted in writing | $50 a month on a managed website |

## Can I try them before I buy?

**Yes, the voice agent: call 289-769-9808.**
That is Harper, Blue Crane's own voice agent, answering for us. Ask what we do or what a website costs and
leave your name and number; it texts the message to Trevor the same way it would text you. The chat agent
is running on a client's website, sending real enquiries to a real owner, so we show it to you on a call
rather than send you there to test it. The text agent is built for your number when you order it, so there
is nothing to try yet, and we will not pretend otherwise.

## What we build

**Running today: the chat agent**A chat box on a client's website that answers visitors from facts the owner approved, never gives a price or a date it was not given, takes a name, one way to reach them and what they need, and sends it to the owner by email and into their office records. Its window says it is an automated helper, not a person.

**Running on our own line: the voice agent**Answers Blue Crane's own number in a natural voice, about two seconds from the caller stopping to the reply in our test calls, takes the message and texts it when the call ends. Not yet answering for a client.

**We build it: the text agent**Answers texts to your business number in short replies, one question at a time, and texts you a summary. Built for your number when you order it. The opt-out it needs already runs in our texting system: anyone who texts STOP is stopped, and the consent record is kept.

**Set up for your business: the brief**Every agent answers from a written brief of your services, areas, hours and what it may say about prices. You approve every line, and anything the brief does not cover, the agent says the team will confirm.

**Set up for your business: where messages land**A text to your phone, an email, or a record on the right customer in your app, whichever suits how you work.

**Set up for your business: the time that suits**Each agent passes on when suits the customer, if they say. Putting the visit straight into your calendar is connected for each business and quoted in writing.

## What it costs

The chat agent has a published price. The voice agent and the text agent are priced for each business in writing, before anything is signed. All three go on the same monthly bill as your website or app.

Voice agent

Quoted *in writing*

Quoted for your call volume and setup before anything is signed.

Answers your phone.

- Your number, or a new local one

- A natural voice, at any hour

- The message texted to you after every call

- Rings you first, or transfers during hours

- Into your app, if we built it

Text agent

Quoted *in writing*

Built for your number, quoted before anything is signed.

Answers your texts.

- Texts to your business number

- One short question at a time

- A summary texted to you

- STOP honoured, consent kept

- Built to order, not running yet

Chat agent

$50 *a month*

On a managed website, scoped in writing and added to the same monthly bill.

Answers your website.

- A chat box on every page of your site

- Answers from facts you approve

- Takes a name, a contact and the need

- Sends it to you by email or into your app

- Running on a client's site today

Hear the voice agent first: call [289-769-9808](tel:+12897699808), or [book a 30-minute call](https://bluecraneworks.ca/solutions.html#contact). Prices in CAD, plus HST. Existing clients keep the rate they signed.

## Will the agents book appointments for me?

**Not on their own, today.** Each agent finds out what the customer needs
and passes on when suits them, if they say, so you can call back with a time. Putting the visit straight
into your calendar is the part we connect for each business, to the calendar in your app, scoped and quoted
in writing. Until that is connected, an agent never promises a time or a slot: it tells the customer the
team will confirm.

## Does the customer know it is an AI?

**Yes, every time.** The voice agent introduces itself as a virtual
assistant in its greeting and says plainly that it is an AI if anyone asks. The chat agent's window says
it is an automated helper, not a person. The text agent is built to introduce itself as your business's
assistant in its first reply. None of them is set up to pass for a person, and none of them invents a name, a number or
a price it was not given.

## Where do the conversations go, and what is kept?

**Conversations are not processed in Canada.** The voice agent and the
chat agent run on Microsoft Azure in the United States (the
[East US 2 region](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/reliability/regions-list)),
on what Microsoft calls Global deployments, which Microsoft says
[may be processed in any Azure region](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/foundry/foundry-models/concepts/deployment-types).
Calls and texts are carried by [Twilio](https://www.twilio.com/docs/voice/media-streams).
The audio of a call is not recorded; the transcript and the message are kept by Blue Crane and sent to
you. The chat agent sends its enquiries to you, and what it keeps is written into your privacy policy
before it goes live.

All of it is governed by Canadian privacy law,
[PIPEDA](https://www.priv.gc.ca/en/privacy-topics/privacy-laws-in-canada/the-personal-information-protection-and-electronic-documents-act-pipeda/),
and texts follow [Canada's anti-spam law](https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/canada-anti-spam-legislation/en),
which is why STOP always works. What callers to our own line are told is in
[our privacy policy](https://bluecraneworks.ca/privacy.html#phone).

## Do they work with my website and my app?

**Each agent works on its own, and each one fits what we already build.**
On a [managed website](https://bluecraneworks.ca/solutions/websites.html) the chat agent sits on every page for
$50 a month, and the phone number on every page can be the one the voice agent answers. In a
[custom application](https://bluecraneworks.ca/solutions/custom-applications.html) each call arrives as a record on the
right customer, with the transcript beside it. The phone side, with its three setups (answer every call,
ring you first, or transfer during your hours), is covered in full on the
[AI receptionist](https://bluecraneworks.ca/solutions/ai-receptionist.html) page.

## What it replaces

- Voicemail nobody checks until the evening

- Texts and website messages answered a day late

- An answering service billed by the minute

- A contact form that sits unanswered all weekend

## Who it is for

Trades and local businesses that lose work when nobody answers: plumbers, roofers, heating and electrical shops, contractors, cleaners, flooring and finishing companies, clinics and studios. Available to businesses in Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Ancaster, Dundas, Waterdown, Burlington, Grimsby and Brantford, and remotely anywhere in Ontario.

## What week one looks like

1. A call with you: what customers ask, what you charge, your hours, and anything an agent must never say.

2. We write the brief the agents answer from, and you approve every line of it.

3. We set up the agents you picked, on your website, your number or a new one, and you try each one yourself until it sounds right.

4. Then they go live, and every message lands on your phone, in your inbox or in your app.
