Before anyone starts work on a construction project in Ontario, every constructor and every employer on that job has to complete an approved registration and keep a signed copy at the project. That registration is Form 1000.
It is required by Ontario Regulation 213/91, section 5, made under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The Ministry publishes the official version as form 016-1000E. Unlike a Notice of Project, there is no dollar threshold — if you are a constructor or an employer engaged in construction on the project, it applies to you.
